Morning Meeting
We will start our morning with a community meeting to help children and guides ground themselves into the space and set intentions for the day. This will also be a time for community announcements.
Morning Offerings
For our youngest learners, our morning offerings will be Montessori-inspired and learner-driven. We aim to nurture their innate curiosity and passion for learning through exposure to a wide variety of topics such as science, math, language, culture, and art. They are also given the opportunity to pursue work of their own choosing from a variety of Montessori and other educational materials.

The majority of offerings for our 7+ crowd are interest-based. If a guide, volunteer or learner has an offering they would like to bring to the group, it is usually something they are passionate about. For instance, we have a mushroom farmer who is very passionate and knowledgeable on all thing's nature, an author leading book club discussions, a musician teaching ukulele, an artist who shares her love of art and so on. Our guides are well-versed on a variety of topics and resourceful. They take the time to tailor their offerings to individual interests. For example, in our STEM offering, we have a group of children who love Legos, therefore, we now have brick math!

Lunch and Outdoor Free Play
Everyone is free to snack when they wish, but we have community mealtime blocked out on the schedule from 11:45 AM – 12:15 PM as a dedicated time to eat together.
After lunch, children can enjoy some outdoor time on the playground equipment, read under a tree or partake in sports and games.
Guided Hike
Each day, we'll venture into the forest as a whole group. While exploring the trails and creek offers a creative space for self-directed play, we'll also have a daily nature activity for those who are interested.
Afternoon Offering
Afternoon offerings are geared to the whole group, and learners can choose to participate or engage in self-directed pursuits. Some examples of our afternoon offerings are fiber arts, loose parts, and music to name a few.
Reflection
We will wrap up our day by reflecting on our experiences – how we did with our intentions, what felt memorable, what was hard, how we can shift our actions and practices the next day.
Field Trips Fridays
We will plan field trips every Friday for those that can make it. This could include a museum, or a local farm/park. Parents will accompany their children on these trips.
